Anita read law at the University of Manchester where she graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB (Hons)) in 2010. She was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 2011 and is a member of the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn. Anita was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2012.

Her portfolio of dispute resolution work involves a wide variety of commercial and corporate disputes and litigation including domestic and international arbitrations. Anita has worked closely with clients from Australia, Taiwan, Singapore and United Kingdom in assisting in their cross-border disputes. Her other areas of practice also encompass banking, insolvency, construction and engineering, energy, land law, reinsurance, trusts and partnership disputes. Anita has appeared together with and acted against foreign solicitors.

Anita is also one of the Contributing Editors for the Malaysian Civil Procedure for 2013, 2015 & 2017 and is also a member of the Society of Construction Law.

  • Assisted in a dispute relating to the supply of a core banking system to a financial institution which was referred to the ICC International Court of Arbitration with the seat of the Arbitration in Singapore.
  • Part of the legal team in a dispute between members of a joint venture on the construction of the largest hydroelectric dam in South East Asia.
  • Acted as Junior Counsel and successfully disputed the jurisdiction of the High Court of Malaysia for a company in the United Kingdom in a civil suit brought by the seller arising out of an Equipment Sale Agreement for the sale of 2 gas turbine generating sets and ancillary equipment amounting to USD31million.
  • Acted as Junior Counsel for a major leading construction company in disputes relating to the construction and upgrading of roadworks in the northern states of Malaysia, and various other construction matters.
  • Assisted as Junior Counsel and solicitor in an arbitration for breach of a Power Purchase Agreement involving a claim and cross-claim.
  • Assisted as Junior Counsel and solicitor in an injunction action and civil suit in relation to the supply of chilled water for the air-conditioning system at one of Kuala Lumpur’s largest office complexes through its Centralized Chilled Water Plant against amongst others, the Master Developer of those complexes.
  • Acted as Junior Counsel in a dispute involving one of Malaysia’s largest property developers and its subsidiary in a dispute with that company’s previous joint venture partners, the previous shareholders of that joint venture company, the previous shareholders of that joint venture company, and the previous 46 landowners of the land which were the subject matter of the joint venture.
  • Assisted in obtaining an interim injunction in aid of an arbitration for a concessionaire on disputes arising from a Concession Agreement pertaining to the privatisation of amongst other, the printing of textbooks for all schools throughout the country.
  • Assisted as Junior Counsel and solicitor in an arbitration with regard to an Extended Warranty Programme for reinsurance coverage involving a major automobile company, its insurers and reinsurers.
  • Part of the legal team in relation to settlement of claims arising out of a flight which was shot down in 2014 in Ukraine.
  • Acted as Junior Counsel in a civil suit wherein the subject matter is with regard to a challenge of the validity of the compulsory acquisition of pieces of land.
  • Assisted as Junior Counsel in several oppression actions.
  • Appeared as Junior Counsel in civil suits involving insurance matters and medical inquiries.
  • Acted as Junior Counsel in adjudication references under CIPAA, 2012.
