This firm has increasingly been concentrating on arbitration issues, with a number of high-profile matters. The 20-partner team is a leader in the market due to its formidable reputation for litigation, covering IP, banking, criminal defence and construction. Last year, the group worked on a WTO safeguard measure for a Japanese client, acting in conjunction with a US law firm, the first measure of this sort in Malaysia. The team also represented Tipco Asphalt on a shareholders' dispute.

Sources say: "Traditionally a big firm in litigation; they've always been strong in this area."
