Lim Soo Keng was admitted as an advocate and solicitor of the Malaysian Bar in September 1981, and joined the firm as an associate (the litigation division) in September 1981. She is part of the team of lawyers in the banking and property practice group in the firm.

  • Advising lenders and drafting financing documents including banking facilities agreements, security documents such as land charges, debentures, assignment of contract proceeds account, assignment of sinking fund account, assignment of insurance proceeds, assignment of rental proceeds, memorandum of deposit of shares and assignment of performance bonds;
  • Advising lenders and drafting corporate debt restructuring agreements pursuant to approved schemes under Section 176 of the Companies Act and the security documents provided under such schemes;
  • Perusing and advising lenders in relation to the laws of Malaysia applicable to security documents executed in favour of off shore lenders to secure foreign currency credit facilities, drafting the security documents relating to assets in Malaysia, advising on the requirements of the Controller of Foreign Exchange, FIC and other relevant regulatory authorities in Malaysia, issuing counsels opinion in respect of the status of the Malaysian borrower or security provider, the enforceability of the obligations of the Malaysian borrower/security provider and enforceability of the security documents relating to assets in Malaysia;
  • Advising receivers and managers of company on disposal of charged landed properties
  • Advising and preparing tenancies, leases, sale and purchase agreements for residential, commercial and industrial properties and other related documents
  • Advising on wills, administration of deceased estates, private trusts as well as charitable trust and drafting Wills, deed of family arrangements, trust deeds and other relevant documents.
